This evening marks the beginning of Ramadan, a lunar month dedicated to fasting from just before dawn until just after sunset. During these hours, we refrain from eating and drinking, and we usually have two small meals: suhoor, eaten before the fast begins, and iftar, enjoyed after we break our fast. This period is a time for self-reflection, and as smallholders, we are especially mindful of the sacredness of food and the land itself.
